Jai Uttal (real name Douglas Uttal ) is an American musician, singer, and songwriter, born June 12, 1951. Hailing from the United States, he works in the New Age and Eastern music genres. Jai Uttal is known for his performances with Pagan Love Orchestra Orchestra. His work combines 1960s and 1970s rhythm and blues with traditional Indian music, particularly the Hindu style of kirtan. Jai Uttal has made a significant contribution to the popularization of Eastern music in the West, fusing spiritual traditions with contemporary musical forms.
