Игорь Ойстрах (full name: Игорь Давидович Ойстрах ) is a distinguished Soviet and Russian violinist, born in 1931 in the USSR. A representative of both classical and pop music, he continued the musical dynasty begun by his father, the legendary violinist Давидом Ойстрахом . Игорь Ойстрах performed with the world's leading orchestras, recorded for major labels, and taught at the Moscow Conservatory. His interpretations of works by Bach, Beethoven, and Tchaikovsky are considered benchmarks.
