Hypocrisy is a Swedish death metal band founded in 1990 in Sweden by Peter Tägtgren. Early in their career, from 1990 to 1994, Hypocrisy performed classic death metal, but since 1995, they have begun to incorporate melodic elements into their sound. The band has released several landmark albums, including "Abducted" and "The Final Chapter" which have received acclaim in the metal community. Hypocrisy has made a significant contribution to the development of melodic death metal, remaining one of the most influential bands in the genre.
