Horslips is an Irish Celtic rock band formed in 1970. Their music combines traditional Irish jigs and reels with rock elements, making them one of the founders of the Celtic rock genre. Horslips released several albums, including "The Táin" and "The Book of Invasions" which are considered classics of the genre. Despite limited commercial success, the band had a significant impact on the Irish and international music scenes. Their name is a pun on the term "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse." Horslips made an important contribution to the popularization of Irish musical tradition in a rock format.
