HIM is a Finnish rock band formed in 1991 in Finland by vocalist Вилле Вало , guitarist Микко Линдстрёмом , and bassist Микко Паананеном . The band gained recognition for its unique style, which blends elements of gothic rock and metal. From 1997 to 2013, the band released eight studio albums, including "Razorblade Romance" and "Dark Light" the latter of which became the first Finnish album to be certified gold in the US. In Finland, several of the band's albums have achieved platinum status. HIM ended their career in 2017, having left a significant mark on the gothic rock genre.
