Heaven & Hell is an American supergroup formed in 2006 by former Black Sabbath members Ronnie James Dio, Vinny Appice, Tony Iommi, and Geezer Butler. The band was actually the Black Sabbath lineup that played together from 1980–82 and 1991–92. The name was changed due to a legal dispute between Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osbourne over the rights to the Black Sabbath brand. Heaven & Hell key releases include the album "The Devil You Know" (2009). The band has made a significant contribution to the development of classic metal, leaving a distinctive mark on the genre.
