Harakiri for the Sky is an Austrian post-black metal band from Vienna, founded in 2011 by vocalist JJ and multi-instrumentalist Matthias Sollak, formerly of Bifröst . The band has released five studio albums: Harakiri for the Sky , Aokigahara , III: Trauma , Arson , and Mære , under the German label AOP Records . Their music combines atmospheric elements of black metal with melancholic melodies and emotional lyrics. Harakiri for the Sky has made a significant contribution to the development of post-black metal, pushing the boundaries of the genre.
