Grace Slick (born October 30, 1939) is an American rock singer and songwriter. She began her musical career in the band The Great Society , but gained greatest fame as the lead singer Jefferson Airplane . Slick became a key figure in the psychedelic scene of the late 1960s, thanks to her powerful vocals and profound lyrics. Among her most famous songs are "White Rabbit" and "Somebody to Love" Her contribution to the development of psychedelic rock has made her an iconic figure in the history of the genre.
