Gorgoroth is a Norwegian black metal band formed in 1992. The band's name is taken from J.R.R. Tolkien's novel The Lord of the Rings, where Горгорот refers to a plateau in Mordor. The band is known for its dark and provocative live performances and its contribution to the development of black metal. Among their most famous albums are "Pentagram" and "Antichrist" Gorgoroth has significantly contributed to the popularization of Norwegian black metal, becoming one of the genre's key bands.
