Geezer Butler is a British rock musician, born in 1949 in the United Kingdom. Known primarily as the bassist and lyricist for the heavy metal band Black Sabbath, he has also been a member of Heaven & Hell and Ozzy Osbourne's solo band. Additionally, he led his own solo project, GZR. Geezer Butler played a pivotal role in shaping the sound and lyrical themes of heavy metal, contributing to iconic albums like "Paranoid". In 2011, he was ranked 21st on Rolling Stone's list of the 50 greatest bassists of all time. His work remains influential in the evolution of the genre.
