He is best known as a founding member of the post-punk band The Virgin Prunes, which gained a cult following in the 1980s for their avant-garde style and theatrical performances. After the band disbanded, Gavin Friday pursued a solo career, releasing albums such as "Each Man Kills the Thing He Loves" and contributing to film soundtracks, including collaborations with Bono of U2.
