Gaina is a Soviet rock musician of Moldovan descent, born on July 25, 1956. He is known as a guitarist and vocalist, having participated in bands such as «Кордиал» , «Магистраль» , «Молодые Голоса» , and «Круиз» , as well as in the projects «Gain» , «Karma» , «SSD» and «iNSULATED» . In the 1980s, he was repeatedly recognized as the best guitarist in the USSR. His work spans hard rock, heavy metal, and thrash metal. Gaina made a significant contribution to the development of classical metal, becoming one of the most influential guitarists of his time.
