GEM (real name Gloria Tang ) is a Chinese singer and songwriter born on August 16, 1991, in Shanghai, China, and raised in Hong Kong. She debuted in the Hong Kong music industry in 2008. After releasing three albums in Hong Kong, her 2014 appearance on the Chinese singing competition show I Am a Singer 2 , where she finished second, brought her widespread recognition in Greater China. GEM is known for her hits such as "泡沫" and "光年之外" . Her work has had a significant influence on the development of pop music in China.
