Known for his work in the rap and hip-hop genre, he was previously signed to Hypnotize Minds, the label managed by Three 6 Mafia founders DJ Paul and Juicy J. Under this label, he released three studio albums: "Gone on That Bay", "Me Being Me", and "Da Key". A career highlight came at the 78th Academy Awards, where he won an Oscar for Best Original Song for "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp", alongside members of Three 6 Mafia.
