
Franck Pourcel (1913–2000) was a French composer, arranger, and conductor known for his works in the genres of light instrumental music, jazz, and pop. Born in Marseille, France, he began his musical career as a violinist, later focusing on conducting and arranging. Pourcel recorded over 250 albums and collaborated with labels such as EMI . His interpretations of classical and popular melodies, including his celebrated version of "Only You" brought him international recognition. Pourcel had a significant influence on the development of light orchestral music, remaining one of the most recorded conductors of his time.
