Finntroll is a Finnish folk metal band founded in 1997. The band performs songs in Swedish, owing to the origins of founder Яна Ямсена , who considered the language more suited to the band's style. Finntroll sound combines elements of pagan metal and Finnish polka, creating a unique atmosphere. Their songs often revolve around the mythical Scandinavian trolls. Despite changing vocalists, the band has maintained its musical identity. Finntroll has made a significant contribution to the development of folk metal, becoming one of the genre's most renowned bands.
