Fever Ray is the solo project of Swedish singer Karin Dreyer-Anderson, best known as the lead singer of The Knife . The project began in 2008, and the first single, "If I Had a Heart" was released on December 15 of that year. The music video was directed by Andreas Nilsson, who had previously collaborated with The Knife . The debut album was released digitally on January 12, 2009, and later on CD and vinyl through Rabid Records and Mute in the US and UK. Fever Ray has made a significant contribution to the development of alternative and electronic music, combining an experimental approach with a unique atmosphere.
