EXID is a South Korean girl group formed in 2012 by Banana Culture Entertainment . The group consisted of five members: Solji, ELLI, Hani, Hyolyn, and Jeonghwa. They debuted in February 2012 with the single "Whoz That Girl" and their first EP "Hippity Hop" was released in August of that year. The group gained widespread recognition thanks to the viral success of their song "Up & Down" in 2014. EXID has contributed significantly to the popularity of K-pop internationally, remaining active until 2022.
