
Ernest Tubb, born in 1914 in Crisp, Texas, was a pioneering American country music artist. Known as the "Texas Troubadour," he played a key role in shaping the honky-tonk style of country music. His career took off in the 1940s with hits like "Walking the Floor Over You", which became a cornerstone of the genre. A member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1943, Tubb also founded the Ernest Tubb Record Shop and hosted the influential Midnite Jamboree radio show. His contributions to country music earned him a place in the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1965.
