Considered a child prodigy, he has released nineteen albums on major labels as of 2022. In addition to his solo career, Gales has performed session and tribute work, and contributed vocals to recordings by the rap groups Prophet Posse and Three 6 Mafia under the pseudonym Lil E His work combines elements of blues, R&B, and jazz, making him a significant figure in the blues-rock genre.
