Emerson, Lake & Palmer (or ELP ) is an English progressive rock band formed in 1970. The band takes its name from the surnames of its members: Кит Эмерсон , Грег Лейк , and Карл Палмер . All three musicians were well-known before forming the band: Эмерсон played with The Nice , Лейк with King Crimson , and Палмер with Crazy World of Arthur Brown and Atomic Rooster . Among their best-known albums are "Brain Salad Surgery" and "Tarkus" . The band made a significant contribution to the development of progressive rock, combining complex musical structures with virtuoso performance.
