Eluveitie is a folk metal band from Switzerland, founded in 2002. Their style combines Celtic folk with melodic death metal. The band's first EP, Vên , was released in October 2003 and later reworked into a full-length album, Spirit . In 2007, Eluveitie signed with Nuclear Blast , through which they released Slania in 2008. This release reached number 35 on the Swiss charts and number 98 in Germany. Eluveitie made a significant contribution to the development of folk metal, popularizing the genre on the international stage.
