
Elliot Easton is an American musician, guitarist, singer, and composer, born in 1953. He is best known as the lead guitarist and backing vocalist for the band The Cars. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music, Easton contributed to the band's signature sound, which produced hits like "Drive" and "Just What I Needed". After The Cars disbanded in 1988, he played with groups such as New Cars and Creedence Clearwater Revisited, and collaborated with newer acts like Click Five. In 2018, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Cars. His work remains influential in rock and power pop genres.
