
Elkie Brooks (born 25 February 1945) is an English singer who works in the rock, blues, and jazz genres. She began her career as the lead singer of the bands Dada and Vinegar Joe before achieving success as a solo artist. Elkie Brooks achieved her greatest popularity in the late 1970s and 1980s, releasing 13 singles that reached the UK Top 75. Among her best-known hits are "Pearl's a Singer" , "Sunshine After the Rain" , and "No More the Fool" . She has been nominated for two Brit Awards , leaving a significant mark on British music culture.
