Electric Light Orchestra , also known as ELO , is a British rock band from Birmingham, formed in 1970 by Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood. The band became known for its blend of rock music with elements of classical and pop. Between 1971 and 1986, the band released 11 studio albums, including hits such as "Mr. Blue Sky" "Livin' Thing" and "Don't Bring Me Down" ELO had a significant influence on the development of progressive rock and pop music, remaining one of the most recognizable bands of its time.
