Eels is an American alternative rock band formed in 1995 in Los Angeles. Its founder and longtime frontman is Mark Oliver Everett, known by the stage name E Although Eels is formally considered a band, Everett remains its only constant member, with the remaining musicians rotating both in the studio and live. Their lyrics often reflect Everett's personal experiences, including themes of loss and everyday struggles. Among their best-known albums are "Beautiful Freak" and "Electro-Shock Blues" Eels made a significant contribution to the development of alternative rock, combining sincere lyrics with an experimental sound.
