Eddie Boyd (full name Edward Rilley Boyd ) is an American blues musician, born on November 25, 1914, on the Stovall Plantation near Clarksdale, Mississippi. In 1936, he moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where he began playing piano and guitar with his band, Dixie Rhythm Boys . Eddie Boyd is known for hits such as "Five Long Years" and "24 Hours" which have become blues classics. His work has had a significant influence on the development of the genre, combining elements of blues, jazz, and pop.
