Eddie Bo (1930–2009) was an American singer, pianist, and composer from New Orleans. Trained in jazz, he became known for his work in the blues, soul, and funk genres. His career began in 1955 with his debut on Ace Records . Eddie Bo released more singles than anyone else in New Orleans except Fats Domino . His famous compositions include "Check Mr. Popeye" and "Hook and Sling." Eddie Bo left a significant mark on the development of funk and R&B, inspiring generations of musicians.
