Dschinghis Khan was a West German disco group formed in 1979 by music producer Ральфом Зигелем in West Germany. The group was formed specifically to participate in the Евровидение Song Contest, where they finished fourth. The group is best known for their hits " Dschinghis Khan ," " Moskau " and " Rocking son of Dschinghis Khan ," which became popular far beyond Germany. Dschinghis Khan made a significant contribution to the development of dance music and pop, leaving a lasting mark on the genre's history. The group disbanded in 1985.
