
Don Williams, born in 1939 in Floydada, Texas, was an American country musician and songwriter. Known as the "Gentle Giant" of country music, he began his solo career in 1971 after seven years with the folk group Pozo-Seco Singers. His soft baritone voice and heartfelt ballads earned him widespread acclaim, with 17 of his songs reaching number one on the charts. Inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2010, his hits include "Tulsa Time" and "I Believe in You". Williams' legacy lies in his ability to bring warmth and intimacy to the country genre.
