Don Drummond was a Jamaican musician born in 1932 and one of the founders of the ska genre. As a trombonist, he was a key figure in the group The Skatalites , which played a significant role in popularizing ska music in the 1960s. His famous compositions include "Man in the Street" and "Eastern Standard Time" His work had a significant influence on the development of reggae and jazz, as well as on Jamaican musical culture as a whole. Despite his tragic fate, Don Drummond remains an icon of his genre.
