
Don Covay (real name Donald James Randolph ) was an American singer and songwriter born in 1938 in the United States. Working in the genres of R&B, rock and roll, and soul, he began his career in the 1950s and remained active until the 1970s. Among his best-known hits are "Mercy, Mercy" "See-Saw" and "Better to Have" Don Covay also wrote songs for artists such as Aretha Franklin and Otis Redding . His contributions to the development of R&B and soul made him a significant figure in the history of American music.
