Dissection was a Swedish melodic black death metal band formed in 1989 in Strömstad by vocalist and guitarist Йоном Нёдтвейдтом . The band gained recognition for the albums "The Somberlain" (1993) and "Storm of the Light's Bane" (1995), which are considered classics of the genre. The band disbanded in 2006 following the tragic death Йона Нёдтвейдта . Dissection had a significant influence on the development of melodic black metal, combining the aggression of black metal with melody and complex guitar parts.
