
Dickey Betts (born December 12, 1943) is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, and composer, and a founding member of the rock band The Allman Brothers Band . He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and won a Grammy Award in 1996 for his instrumental composition "Jessica" Dickey Betts is recognized as one of the most influential guitarists of all time, ranking 58th on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. His style combines elements of jazz improvisation and fiery rock and roll, making him a preeminent representative of the genre. The New York Times called him one of the greatest rock guitarists.
