Paul Desmond was a jazz alto saxophonist and composer, born November 25, 1924, in San Francisco, USA. He is best known for his work in the Дэйва Брубека Quartet, where he wrote the iconic composition "Take Five" one of the most popular pieces in the cool jazz genre. His unique playing style and intellectual approach to music made him one of the most recognizable musicians of his time. Paul Desmond made a significant contribution to the development of cool jazz, remaining an icon of the genre even after his death on May 30, 1977.
