Derrick Hodge is an American composer, musical director, bandleader, producer, and bassist, born in 1979. Working in the contemporary jazz genre, he has achieved significant success, including two Грэмми Awards and being named a Sundance Composer Fellow . His contribution to Common album "BE" was cited as one of the 20 best bass lines in hip-hop history. He is also a recipient of the Motif Award Award, one of the most prestigious awards for children's advocacy. Derrick Hodge continues to make significant contributions to the development of contemporary jazz.
