Dennis DeYoung is an American singer, songwriter, and keyboardist born in 1947. He was a founding member of the rock band Styx , serving as the band's lead vocalist and keyboardist from 1972 to 1999. DeYoung wrote seven of the band's eight Billboard top-10 singles, including hits such as "Babe" and "The Best of Times" In addition to his work with the band, he achieved success as a solo artist, releasing a single that also reached the top 10. His contributions to the hard rock and musical genres have made him a significant figure in the music industry.
