
Death From Above 1979 is a Canadian rock duo formed in Toronto in 2001. The band consists of Sebastien Grainger and Jesse F. Keeler, known for their unique blend of alternative rock, dance-punk, and noise rock, notably without a lead guitarist. Initially named Death From Above, the duo released one studio album, three EPs, three singles, and a compilation before disbanding in 2006. Their debut album, "You're a Woman, I'm a Machine", gained critical acclaim and remains a cult favorite. Death From Above 1979 has significantly influenced the dance-punk genre with their raw energy and innovative sound.
