
Death is an American metal band formed in 1983 in the United States. Led by vocalist, guitarist, and lyricist Чаком Шульдинером , the band has had a profound influence on the development of the death metal genre. Their album "Scream Bloody Gore" (1987) is considered a benchmark for the genre and one of the first full-fledged death metal releases. The band released several landmark albums, including "Leprosy" and "Symbolic" which cemented their status as innovators. Чак Шульдинер remained the band's only constant member until his death on December 13, 2001, which led to the band's disbandment. Death made a significant contribution to the development of extreme metal, inspiring many followers.
