Dave Gahan (born Дэвид Колкотт ) is an English musician, singer, and songwriter, born in 1962 in the United Kingdom. He is best known as the vocalist of the electronic band Depeche Mode , with whom he has performed since its formation in 1980. Q magazine included him in its list of "100 Greatest Singers" (73rd place) and "100 Greatest Frontmen" (27th place). He is distinguished by his "dominant stage presence" and "deep baritone." Among the band's best-known songs are "Enjoy the Silence" and "Personal Jesus" Dave Gahan has made a significant contribution to the development of alternative and electronic music.
