Danny Gokey is an American singer and former church music director, born in 1980. He gained national recognition as the third-place finalist on the eighth season of American Idol. Following his success on the show, Gokey signed with 19 Recordings and RCA Nashville, launching his career in country music. His debut single, "My Best Days Are Ahead of Me", and the accompanying album, My Best Days, were released in 2010. Gokey has since made a significant impact on the country genre with his heartfelt lyrics and powerful vocals.
