Dan McCafferty (1946–2022) was a Scottish rock vocalist and songwriter, best known as the founder and leader of the rock band Nazareth . Born in the United Kingdom, he became a key figure in the development of hard rock. With Nazareth , he released hits such as "Love Hurts" and "Hair of the Dog" which brought the band international fame. His powerful vocals became the band's signature, and albums such as "Razamanaz" and "Loud 'n' Proud" cemented their success. McCafferty made a significant contribution to the development of rock music, inspiring numerous subsequent artists.
