Coil is a British electronic experimental band founded in London in 1982 by John Balance. The band became a duo after the addition of Peter Christopherson, former member of Throbbing Gristle and Balance's colleague in Psychic TV . Coil is considered one of the most influential projects in post-industrial music. Their discography includes such seminal albums as "Horse Rotorvator" and "Love's Secret Domain" The band is also known for its experiments with soundtracks and visual art. Coil made a significant contribution to the development of the genre, pushing the boundaries of electronic music.
