
Caroline Polachek (born Caroline Elizabeth Polachek on June 20, 1985) is an American singer and songwriter. Raised in Connecticut, she co-founded the indie pop band Chairlift while attending the University of Colorado. The duo rose to prominence in the Brooklyn music scene in the late 2000s with their hit single " Bruises ." Following the band's disbandment in 2017, Polachek launched a successful solo career, experimenting with alternative, pop, and electronic genres. Her solo work, such as the album " Pang ," has received acclaim for its innovative approach to pop music.
