Carl Orff (full name: Carl Heinrich Maria Orff ) is a German composer and music educator, born in 1895 in Germany. He is a prominent representative of late Romanticism and Expressionism. Orff is best known for his "scenic cantata" "Carmina Burana" which became one of the most performed musical works of the 20th century. In addition to composing, he developed a unique educational method for teaching music to children, known as "Orff-Schulwerk" Carl Orff contribution to world classical music and music education remains significant and relevant to this day.
