
Carcass is a British metal band from Liverpool, formed in 1985. Considered one of the founders of the goregrind genre, they later shifted to melodic death metal. Among their best-known albums are "Heartwork" and "Necroticism – Descanting the Insalubrious" which significantly influenced the development of extreme metal. The band temporarily went on hiatus in 2008, but left an indelible mark on the genre, inspiring many followers. Carcass made an important contribution to the development of extreme music, combining technical mastery with an innovative approach.
