Carbon Based Lifeforms is a Swedish ambient duo formed in 1996. Members Йоханн Хедберг and Даниэль Сегерстад have become prominent representatives of psychedelic ambient music. The band is a resident of the French label Ultimae Records , known for its ambient and downtempo releases. Among their most famous albums are "Hydroponic Garden" and "World of Sleepers" which have received acclaim for their atmospheric sound. Carbon Based Lifeforms have made a significant contribution to the development of psychedelic ambient music, inspiring many contemporary artists in the genre.
