Canned Heat is an American blues-rock band formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, California, by the late Alan Wilson and Bob Hite. The band took its name from bluesman Tommy Johnson's 1928 song "Canned Heat Blues." Known for their passion for blues, Wilson and Hite revived numerous forgotten blues classics from the 1920s and 1930s. The group achieved significant commercial success between 1969 and 1971, with hits like "On the Road Again" and "Going Up the Country." Their work contributed to the popularization of blues-rock and the preservation of early blues traditions.
