Broken Hope is an American death metal band formed in 1988 in Chicago, Illinois. The band was founded by guitarist Джереми Вагнером , vocalist Джо Птасеком , and drummer Райном Станеком . In 1990, the band released several demos, which attracted the attention of the Grind Core label, which released their debut album, Swamped In Gore . Broken Hope later signed with Metal Blade and released the albums The Bowels of Repugnance (1993) and Repulsive Conception (1995), the latter of which entered the metal Top 25 of CMG New Music Monthly chart. The band made a significant contribution to the development of the death metal genre, exploring provocative themes in their lyrics.
