Broken Bells is an American indie-pop duo formed in 2009. The group consists of James Mercer, the vocalist of The Shins, and producer Brian Burton, also known as Danger Mouse, who is a member of Gnarls Barkley. Their self-titled debut album, released in 2010, received critical acclaim and featured the hit single "The High Road". Known for their melodic and experimental sound, the duo has released multiple albums, including "After the Disco" in 2014. Broken Bells has contributed significantly to the indie-pop genre by blending traditional pop elements with innovative production techniques.
